I am off a week I know with my Split Coast Stamping posts for the Monday CAS challenges. I have been traveling, and it made it hard to upload to my blog. Anyhow, this week I am here and will quickly share the challenge this week. This week the challenge is a color combo: Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzaz, Crumb Cake and White. When I pulled the colors I had lots of ideas, but little time. So I went with my first idea and created a CAS card that could be altered to lots of color combinations. I had just gotten "Everything Elenor" from the last party I went to and had not done much with it. I decided to use the Pear Pizzaz for the flourish, the crumb cake as a base and sentiment color, and then add the needed pop of color with Melon Mambo. I did the card with both flowers and the butterfly, and ended up choosing the butterfly. This is the card:
I hope this basic card is one you can see CASE ing and altering to use other colors as well.
Hope you enjoy and have a wonderful week. Create something! Join the challenge HERE and upload your creation!
Blessing and Hugs! Tammie

SCS CAS 222 CHALLENGE
Happy Memorial Day to you all. I have just a couple quick minutes for a post today. I am playing catch-up from having my grandchildren all weekend!! What an exhausting delight that was!! Both boys are so sweet and special, and when I get time to spend with them, my priorities shift. Hence, the lateness of this post.
The CAS challenge at Splitcoast today was to get "Trendy"....the theme was "Feathers" since feathers seem to be a big trend right now in stamping. This is the link to that challenge. I struggled a bit with this one because feathers are not my normal style, although I love birds etc. It was just a hard challenge for me....more than anything because I had my family around and my head wasn't into creating. I do have plenty of feather stamps, but nothing I did with them was working out. I could not color one to look realistic to save my soul. So, I decided to pick a more masculine color I had not played with much and make a monochromatic card. I chose very old feather stamp I had that was a collage of different feathers that I felt was interesting enough to stand on it own. I used SU Midnight Muse for the ink choice. This is what I made:

The sentiment is from Stampin Up's "OH HELLO". I thought it worked well with a more masculine type card. The banner also could come under the heading of "Trendy" since you see banners everywhere also. Anyway, hope you had a wonderful long weekend, and enjoy a super week ahead.

SCS CAS Challenge 220
Good morning and Happy Monday to you all! I hope that all the Mothers out there had a wonderful day yesterday....I know I did! However, all the company and attention put me a bit behind, so my post will be short...I just wanted to do a quick pic of my creation for this weeks CAS challenge over at Splitcoast stampers.
This week the challenge was to use no words or sentiments on the card, but to let the image send the message. I am so excited for spring, so I chose a happy little tulip stamp from an old Hero Arts set I have had for many years. It is a set of 4 spring flower images:
This is each one close up...Very very simple I know, but IRL life they really are very pretty with a lot of texture and interest.
I hope you enjoy, and I hope you check out the challenge at SCS, and join in the fun. I also challenge you to pull out an old stamp or two and revisit them....sometimes our stamping styles and knowledge has changed drastically over the years of creating, and all of a sudden we have a new perspective on an old stamp.
Have a wonderful week, and if you stopped by today, please take a quick moment to say Hi in the comments. I love to know who visited!
Hugs!!! Tammie

I have not used it for a very long time, but still love the images. I chose the tulips for my CAS challenge card because it not only said "Spring" to me, but "Happy Mother's Day" to my MIL. I always try to do a tulip card of some sort for her since she is Dutch. For the card, I chose four different embossing folders and ran white CS through them in my cuttlebug, and cut each one into four equal pieces. I then patch worked them onto a white card base. I stamped the tulip image three times..once on red, once on green, and once on yellow. I then enhanced the image with TH markers and blended and shaded. I fussy cut out portions and put it all together on a Martha Stewart doily. This is the card....
The good thing about this patchwork design is that I looked at my left over pieces of embossing, and thought.."why not make three more"? It was all there...the cut panels, the white CS and the stamps. So I stamped the other three images in a similar manner, fussy cut some more, and quickly had three more cards...a lovely spring set of note cards! This is each one close up...Very very simple I know, but IRL life they really are very pretty with a lot of texture and interest.

SCS CAS 219 CHALLENGE
Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekend was as good as mine. I visited my wonderful mom and had a girls weekend to celebrate Mother's Day early. We had such fun just chatting, hitting second hand stores, and playing with buttons. She is the reason I have such a button addiction. Tomorrow I will do a post to show you a few pics of her growing collection, and the fun way she is displaying her stash.
Anyway, back to this weeks CAS challenge at Splitcoast....which was a CASE challenge!! Such fun!! We were to CASE a card from Bonnie (bon2stamp). I chose a card with a layout I liked and tweeked it a bit to make my Mom a Mothers Day card. This is the link to her card.
This is my card.
Of course for Mom I had to use butons, but still wanted a CAS look. The CS is Calyso Coral and Pool Party by Stampin-up, as are the buttons and ribbon. The doily is by Martha Stewart.
I like this layout as the possibilities are endless.
Hope you like...sorry such a short post...my 2 month old beautiful Grandson is here to visit Grammi! Gotta go....Hugs....Tammie

SCS CAS 218 Challenge
Happy Monday all...hope this is a sunny beginning to your week ahead. We actually had some nice weather and sun this weekend in the Black Hills that melted a good part of the snow. So, hoping Spring is finally here.
The challenge for this weeks CAS over at Splitcoast was this quote..".May every sunrise hold more promise, and every sunset hold more peace".
Sadly and one of my co-workers had to retire early this week....I did not have a chance to really say goodby so made her this card...I know she will find so much peace and fun in doing all those things she has wanted to do for a long time....to you Linda....you will be missed!
Here is my card:
I decided to spotlight the sunset portion, in all honesty after I smudged the original masked attempt three times in a row. So, I cut out the portion I liked, and spotlighted it after I stamped and embossed the tree branch on the card front. Very shiny and nice IRL.
Hope you like...please play along with this weeks challenge!

CAS 217 SPLITCOAST CHALLENGE
Good morning and Happy Monday! Monday brings the beginning of a new work week...Although I love what I do in the health care profession, I get down sometimes because it seems to get in the way of my creative time! I can't always fit creative time in with long work hours, being a good mother and grandmother and friend. When that happens too often I find my focus in daily life not as good as well. What I am trying to say I guess is that some of us really need our creative time to have the rest of our normal daily routine seem more tolerable. So...lets play along this week with splitcoast for this weeks CAS challenge. I have so much fun in my first few weeks as a Design Team member...this week is a sketch challenge...this is the link to that challenge....please check it out and play along...this is my card that I created for the challenge:
I have been buying washi tapes for awhile now, and have quite a collection, but do not play with them much. I decided this sketch was the time. I chose the tapes, applied them to the card and stamped the sentiment. I then cut a frame from two different spellbinder dies, stitched around it, and applied it to the card to frame the sentiment. I added the buttons cause I am a buttonaholic...I admit it am not ashamed...:) Anyhow, I think this sketch lends itself to so many many fun creative possibilities. Please play along, and let me know you stopped by my blog today...and have a wonderful wonderful week!

CAS 216 Challenge
Good morning blogger buddies, and HAPPY Monday!! Every Monday brings a new CAS challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. This weeks challenge was this picture from Pinterest:
I stamped the flower stems, and the black frame around them that coordinated with the die cut shape I used to make the frame. I then sewed on the flowers, made the frame and ran it through the CB with the swiss dots folder, and stamped the sentiment. Quick! Love those flower buttons!
Hope you all play along with this weeks CAS challenge...it has so many possibilities...
Have a wonderful week! Tammie
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this picture because I am a button fanatic. So is my mom! She has a collection like I have never seen before!! Gallon jar after Gallon jar of buttons....all sorted by color or shape or theme and artistically displayed. So when I saw this picture I knew I needed to make a button card for her. I used some of the plate colors to choose the buttons for my card. I was going to do a banner of buttons, but felt more like spring flowers. So this is the CAS card I created this week.
Hope you all play along with this weeks CAS challenge...it has so many possibilities...
Have a wonderful week! Tammie

SCS CAS 215 Color Challenge
Spring is in the air!!! The color combo for this weeks challenge at splitcoast was tempting turquoise, certainly celery, and pretty in pink. When I put them together I thought of several things...babies, flowers, birds, butterflies....I ended up going with a bird theme for my card because I had some bird stickers I wanted to try out. Elizabeth Craft Design has these wonderful peel off stickers in many different images. The looked like they were stamped and embossed. You just peel them off and adhere them to cardstock and color them in. I added a twist that I learned from my friend Stacy with the images today. I adhered them to score tape and used Elizabeth Cool Diamond glitter, and then colored over it with Tim Holtz markers. The glitter is super fine, and burnishes in beautifully so no glitter mess follows to the recipient. I used shabby shutters, spun sugar and broken china markers, which are almost exactly the same colors as SU colors mentioned above. I then cut out my little birdies and assembled my card. Very quick....could make a bunch fast. These little stickers can go on glass or anything...I know we are making a card, but these little sticker guys are SOO versatile and fun! Anyhow, here is my card:
I know the glitter is hard to see in the pic, but is really pretty IRL. Hope you all play along this week with this fun challenge. Have a wonderful week!

SCS CAS 214 Challenge Chalkboard Technique
Just a quick post tonight to try to get caught up after vacation, and then being ill all weekend. I did not get a post done with my first submission this last week for the CAS 214 challenge on Monday at Splitcoaststampers. It was the chalkboard technique, and was really fun to play with. You basically use black cardstock, white ink and white embossing powder if wanted. I simply inked my image with white ColorBox ink and left it unembossed...looked more realistic that way to me. I even smeared it a bit.
I used a Hero Arts Set. I stamped the image, added some stars from the same set, and drew a border around it with Tim Holtz picket fence pen. I then added it to my layout after cutting the image out. I altered the Designer paper to better fit the color scheme, by adding black stripes with a marker where there were white stripes( I trick I learned from Jennifer Maguire). This is the card...Hope you like!

Big News!!
Hello to all my stamping friends from Las Vegas. We are taking a much needed little spring break here and having a blast!! But here is my BIG NEWS!
I made a card awhile back that I uploaded today because it fit the challenge for this week. The challenge was to use line image stamps only, no solid stamps. I chose a card using a Hero Arts set. The second reason I used that card was because I am in Vegas and had never done a post or upload from my IPad and wanted to make sure it worked ...I had this card in my card file and was able to practice with the upload. I think it went through fine...(I hope) because I need to do my first DT post this way tomorrow. So, after all that rambling here is the link to my card. Yes...you guessed it, I can't figure out how to get the pic transferred to this post using my IPad, but I will figure it out..:).
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter tomorrow!
The night before I left, I found out that I made the CAS Spring DT!!!! WoHoo!!! I could not believe it! I am so excited. Our first day will be this Monday, and will run through June. A few of you have asked how to get to the CAS challenge every Monday. You just go to Splitcoaststampers, and then Look towards the middle of the page, and next to Monday, you will see Try a new Technique and Clean and Simple. Choose Clean and simple. It should take you Here. Then you simply choose that weeks challenge which is CAS213 this week. Next week will CAS214 etc...the date is by it and a new challenge is issued every Monday.
I hope you all follow myself and the three other DT members...and upload your own creations!! If you have any questions about how to do that, leave me a comment at the end of this post and I will try to help.I made a card awhile back that I uploaded today because it fit the challenge for this week. The challenge was to use line image stamps only, no solid stamps. CAS Spring DT Search Challenge C
The Spring DT search is on over at SplitCoastStampers, and I was very excited to find out that I made into the top ten!! One more challenge, and this one was so fun...I had so many ideas, and deciding on which card to submit was hard. We were given this image to use as inspiration.
I absolutely loved the colors and the fabric eggs in this colander. So I decided to paper patchwork an Easter egg with the color scheme in the picture. I zig zagged the pieces to a base egg shape, and adhered it to the card. Very simple, but this is a clean and simple challenge right?
This is my card:
Hope you all have a wonderful week ahead with some time to slow down and create a bit here and there. God Bless!

Splitcoaststampers Spring DT Search B
Well! I made it to round two of the CAS DT search at Splitcoaststampers. I did not expect that, so had to scramble to come up with a card for the next challenge given. We moved on to the lingerie department of Macy's, and were to make a card having an animal print, or animal. Since we were in the lingerie dept, I had to use one of my Skipping Stones Design Bra stamps right? I so enjoy Heather's fun and amusing designs and truly enjoyed designing with her stamps while being a "Stamp Tramp". This set was perfect!
The challenge was finding an animal print!! I have to admit to a pretty crazy amount of DSP and stamps, but could not come up with a print or stamp that worked until I saw the cover of a 6x6 patterned paper pack by Echo Park. It has strips of samples of inside paper pieces and the small scale worked perfectly. I stamped, colored and cut out the bra. This is the card:
It has animal print, is CAS, and lingerie.....hope it works!! Check out all the other cards for this challenge at the gallery at SCS.
Have a super week!

Split Coast Stampers CAS Spring DT challenge A
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Here in SD we got alot of snow yesterday, which was nice because we need the moisture badly. I have been busy helping one son move, and the other son enjoy my new little grandson who is 2 weeks old. I got to babysit the little guy last night for the first time, and he was so good! Such a precious baby.
This morning, I had time finally to briefly play. I wanted to participate in the first challenge posted for the CAS Spring DT search over at splitcoaststampers. I was right at the deadline, so don't know if I made it in time or not, but regardless had fun playing this morning.
The challenge was the cosmetic counter at Macy's. We were to use anything other than traditional ink and stamp, like EP, paints etc. I chose to play with my Distress Stains. Lots of lipsticks with stains in them now right?
I took the oval and flower image from Stampin Up's Oh, Hello, and white embossed them after stamping with VersaMark ink. I dabbed the distress stains over the image and lightly blended them with a water brush, {just like blending make-up}. I embossed the little oval with a SU folder and my Cuttlebug, punched out the oval shape to fit the inside of the folder I then fussy cut the flower, and popped it up with dimensionals. The sentiment came last. I liked that the oval in this set can become another size, used as a background etc...lots of possibilities. Here is my card.
CAS, yet fun. I may try a monochromatic theme as well, with a different image than the flower, and make a set with different sentiments. Would be quick and easy.
Hope you all have a wonderful day! Tammie
